Lancaster City Council
Susan has been Chief Executive for Lancaster City Council since July 2016 and is working collaboratively to regenerate the city and wider district, with a focus on economic growth and place-shaping to make the most of what the Lancaster District has to offer.
Susan has worked in local government since 1998, including roles at Chester Council and the London Borough of Ealing. Susan completed a law degree and master of philosophy as a mature student, starting her working career at BT. Susan also held, until 2016, a Non-Executive Director role at Catalyst Housing and chaired a small Housing Association in Hackney.

As these issues become more complex, it is increasingly important for leaders to ensure that the skills of their workforce adequately reflect the demands of their constituency.
